Packing List

Clothing: The weather in North Carolina in July can be very hot and humid. It is recommended that campers bring lightweight clothing that dries quickly. Campers will be participating in approximately three workout sessions a day. Some girls may wish to change their clothes between sessions, and others may not. Campers may also have educational sessions on the fields in the evenings, so please bring a jacket and athletic pants, as some girls get chilly during these sessions. Also, please bring clothing for relaxation, sleeping, and rain, as well as other personal items, such as toiletries. Swimsuits are optional, and often not needed.

Hockey Gear: Campers will need to bring shoes suitable for grass, turf, and field turf. You will need to bring your sneakers and cleats. Cleats are not allowed on the turf. Turf shoes are optional, and not recommended unless you plan on playing on turf in the future. Turf shoes can be purchased at most soccer specialty stores. Players will also need to bring their hockey stick, mouth and shin guards. Goalies are expected to bring their own gear. Please see the goalie section for more information.

Food and Snacks: All meals are included in camp from dinner of Day 1 through breakfast of Day 4. The cafeteria offers many selections from hot meals of comfort foods to deli selections, salad bar, pizza and pasta, and many more items. Most dietary needs can be accommodated. Most girls find they are hungry following the evening tournament play. Limited selection of snack foods is available at the campus convenience store and the camp store for an additional charge. Evening pizza delivery is available in the residence hall lounge following the final session. Pizza can be purchased by the slice or pie. Most campers bring some of their own snacks. Girls will have access to small refrigerators and microwaves.

Gatorade and water is available during all practice sessions. Please bring your own water bottle.

Bed Linens and Towels: Please note that you are responsible for bringing your own linens, blanket, pillow, and towels, unless you reserved linens and towels on your registration form or made arrangements with the camp administrator. It is recommended that you bring two twin-sized flat sheets, as the beds run long.

Money: It is not required that campers bring additional money. However, most campers like to purchase pizza and snacks in the evening. Pizza and drink prices start at a few dollars. Also, the camp store offers athletic gear such as jerseys, t-shirts, jackets, bags and many more items. Many girls want to purchase a souvenir jersey, especially after getting to know the Wake Forest players. Items in the camp store run from $15 on up. Typically, an official Wake Forest Field Hockey jersey cost approximately $40.

Extras: We expect a lot of sun, so please bring your sunscreen and hat. All rooms are air conditioned, so you will not need a fan.
